Mapping the grassland quality of the flooded plain based on Jilin-01 images with a red-edge spectral band

In response to the difficulties of flood plain quality assessment, red-edge spectral remote sensing data acquired from Jilin-01 satellite were used. The Grassland Quality Index (GQI) was formed by Normalized Difference Vegetation (NDVI) and Red Edge (NDRE) related determination grassland first principal component Chlorophyll obtained analysis. GQI applied evaluate in flooded plain, which is an important ecological-barrier area western Jilin Province, then verified using field measurement data. Results show that 1) 80% grasslands Xianghai Nature Reserve are a medium quality, with good growth status account for approximately 15% mainly concentrated wetland swamp areas central south part reserve 2) correlation evaluation results survey biomass, coefficient empirical model 0.96, indicates consistency. This study practical significance timely accurate monitoring growth, beneficial development livestock husbandry protection ecological environment northern China.
